Haik Azarian was born on the May 26, 1973 into a family of artists. His father, Abraham Azarianis a well-known plastic artist and his mother, Hasmik Azarian Hachatrian is a musician. Both parents are born in the city of Yerevan (Erevan). His grandparents fatherly side come from the western part of Armenia, at present Turkish territory, being refugees as a result of the genocide of 1915. His grandfather motherly side comes from the city of Hoi.
